Starfall

While Rylie was playing Starfall this morning, she decided to sign up. All of our names made it in her email addresses. I love that girl!

Marie Grace

Rylie has been saving her money and with help from her birthday (thanks family) she was able to bring home our new family member Marie Grace! We had so much fun visiting the American Girl Doll store! We were also able to celebrate my grandpa, who passed almost a year ago! It was fun to see my grandma and spend time with family!

Rylie is 6!!!!

So Rylie turned 6 and begged for a superhero birthday party. Well lets just say most superheros are boys. So I decided with the help of my wonderful neighbor to sew capes for all of her little guests. With several late nights of sewing and a lot of seam ripping I was able to finish just in time for the party. The kiddos went to superhero school and decorated masks. We had such a fun time and we are so thankful for our little 6 year old! She is smart, witty, pays attention to detail, loves Jesus and thinks about others (most of the time). We are so glad that she is our daughter and we pray that she will continue to love the Lord and share Him with others! Happy Birthday Girl!

First Day of School and Homework

So as most of you know Rylie started kindergarten this year. She has been ready for about a year now and couldn't wait for her first day of school. As I dropped her off I started to tear up and I looked over and noticed that she was not at all sad and was standing in line with a confident smile. I am so proud of my little kindergartner. We are reading every night for 10 minutes and she has homework sheets that she has to complete. Sometimes after school or in costume whatever suits her that day. The most fun is picking her up from school everyday and hearing about all of her adventures and everything that she has learned.

A couple of highlights from the first few days at school are:
The very first day the principal comes around and does little motivational talks for all the classes. Of course her speech for the kindergartners is about not picking your nose and eating it (which my children of course do not do). So after she finishes Rylie raises her hand and asks "May I please have a kleenex?"

When describing how they have to stand in line to go places she said, "Mom it is soooo boring you have to stand there and stare at the back of the persons head in front of you. I just want to look around at other things."


I'm sure we will have many other funny moments. Please pray for her friendships and that she will be a light at her school. The other wonderful thing about her going to school is that I get to spend time with my sweet Ella. We are reading books and doing a little bit of preschool together! Please pray that we will have meaningful time together and that she will soon love Jesus too!

Labor Day Weekend

There was a whole lot of football and motorcycle riding going on! Of course we tuned in for the first BSU game of the season. It was fun to hang out with the family and read books that I have on my list. The highlight of the weekend was watching Rylie learn how to ride a motorcycle! Rylie's cousin has a smaller motorcycle and was willing to let Rylie learn on his. They started her out slow and then let her speed up a little bit. She did great and now she really wants to buy her own motorcycle. Her exact words were, "Mom can you buy me a motorcycle and put my name on it?" I guess she wants to make sure that there is no chance of her sister riding it.
