Rolie Polie Olie

That is what Rylie and I call Ella as she rolls around the room, with her red cheeks smashed up against furniture and slobber dripping from her lips. Our little girl is rolling over and I can't beleive it! Ella is a little over 5 months and she adores Rylie and everything that she does. Lately, Rylie has been playing with her nonstop and making her laugh hysterically. I can't wait to see these two sweet sisters grow up together and become friends.

Thursday Morning Bible Study

Come one, come all to a new study called "The Bible for Babies" led by Rylie Joy. This morning while I was working on my devotions, Rylie decided that she was going to lead Ella in an early morning Bible study. Her daddy has been reading the Bible with her before bed and they call it Bible study. Rylie wanted to make sure that Ella heard that Jesus had died on the cross for her sin too. I think Ella is actually listening, but I don't know if she is quite old enough to believe.

Busy Bees

Our special helper was only allowed to use water colors, but she still had a fabulous time!!!

So we are in the process of finishing our bonus room and so far we are all working well together and scooting along. Craig built some shelves into the wall so that we would have storage for kids toys and books etc. I am excited because our house will be organized and our garage empty. What a blessing it will be to have a play room for the girls now that I am home all the time. Rylie got her own desk to store all of her preschool books and supplies in. God has provided everything we need every step of the process. Also, I am so thankful for my husband who is willing to spend his time on this awesome room for his family. I did promise him that he could hang some hunting decor up there...

Getaway from Here

I haven't gotten a chance to blog about our little getaway to the cabin with our friends Tyler and Mel. Yes, this was our third time in three weeks!!! Craig and I have felt so lucky to be able to hang out a lot this summer and spend time at the cabin, the Oregon coast and finishing the bonus room. He is starting a new job this week at Compass Public Charter, teaching 7th grade. He is very excited to be apart of a dynamic team of teachers and administrators. So this was one of our last hurrahs before our schedule sets in. We played games, read books, went on walks and just relaxed in God's creation. Rylie was all about holding Katelyn and giving their dog Drake water. Katelyn is actually 3 weeks older than Ella, but Ella is ALOT chubbier!

Beach Bums, Screaming Car Rides and First Times

I can't believe we have been gone for over a week!!! We had a super summer vacation, touring the Oregon Coast with my family in our mini van. Rylie started the first leg of our journey in my parents car and showed up at the family reunion early to hang out with her second cousins. We joined them on Sunday with my sister and it was fun to see all the new babies, cousins, grandparents and aunts/uncles. My Uncle Dale and Aunt Jackie spent their last weekend with their dog Lucy at the coast. We will be praying for them as they deal with their loss. After one night in Yachats, it was off to Rockaway to visit Uncle Matt and then on to Seaside. We realized it was a lot quieter with one of our girls missing... In Seaside, my parents rented an amazing beach house two blocks away from the beach. We played games, walked on the beach, golfed, played in the sand/water, and drank tons of coffee. Cannon Beach was our favorite little town to hang out in and shop. It was such a fun trip and all the crying on the way home made it hard to leave!!!

This was a week of firsts for our Rylie Girl. Here are her top five...

5) Rylie's first time on a carousel and she loved it!!! She went on it four more times throughout the week after asking repeatedly if she could go on the "carishell"!

4) We visited Uncle Matt at Twin Rocks Camp in Rockaway, OR, where he is a counselor this summer. He took Rylie miniture golfing and she actually hit it in by herself from about 3ft. away. She amazes me!

3) Let's go fly a kite on the windiest day at the beach!!! Daddy helped Rylie hold on so she didn't blow away with the kite. We also found sand dollars and crab shells to bring home.

2) We explored the tiny aquarium in Seaside, which was very exciting for Rylie because she was able to feed a seal and touch a starfish for the very first time. She was a little scared after I told her I was going to put her in the tank with the octopus.

1) The highlight of the trip was going to the beach for the first time and building sand castles, running in the waves and burying everyone and everything in the sand. Rylie would run so fast into the waves, that she would trip and fall on her face.

Oh, by the way, Ella came on our vacation too!
